1. Overview

Bligo Network ("Bligo," "we," "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights. We believe in transparency — no surprises.

2. What We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Account information: Name, email address, password, @handle
  • Profile information: Job title, industry, location (city/state/zip), bio, avatar photo, headline
  • Skills and signals: Professional skills, hobbies, interests, goals — entered manually or extracted by AI from your onboarding conversation
  • Posts and messages: Content you post, messages you send, group chat messages
  • Connections: Who you connect with, endorsements you give or receive

Information collected automatically:

  • Usage data: Pages visited, features used, search queries
  • Device information: Browser type, IP address, device type
  • Cookies: Authentication cookies to keep you logged in (see Section 7)

3. How We Use Your Data

  • Matching: Your signals, skills, location, and interests are used to match you with relevant people and business pages
  • Personalization: Your profile data powers your feed, search results, and suggested connections
  • Notifications: We send email and in-app notifications about friend requests, messages, and new matches
  • AI analysis: When you onboard with your AI assistant, the conversation is parsed to extract your professional signals. This data is stored on your profile — you can review and edit it at any time
  • Trust scoring: Your signal confidence scores are calculated based on real interactions (matches, messages, endorsements) — not self-reported
  • Platform improvement: Aggregated, anonymized data helps us improve the matching algorithm and user experience

4. What We Share

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Period.

We may share data in these limited cases:

  • Other Bligo users: Your public profile, posts, and signals are visible to other members based on your privacy settings
  • Service providers: We use Supabase (database/auth), Cloudflare (hosting), Anthropic (AI parsing), and Resend (email) to operate the platform. These providers process data on our behalf under strict agreements
  • Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users

5. Your Rights

  • Access: You can view all your data from your profile and settings pages
  • Edit: Update or correct your profile information at any time
  • Delete: Delete your account and all associated data from Settings > Delete Account. This is permanent and cannot be undone
  • Export: Contact us at [email protected] to request a copy of your data
  • Opt out of emails: You can disable email notifications in your profile settings. You will still receive essential account-related emails (password reset, security alerts)

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required by law to retain it. Anonymized, aggregated data may be retained indefinitely for analytics.

7. Cookies

We use essential cookies only:

  • Authentication cookies: Keep you logged in across sessions (Supabase auth token)
  • Preference cookies: Remember your settings and choices

We do not use tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not participate in ad networks or cross-site tracking.

8. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data: encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), secure authentication (Supabase Auth with JWT), row-level security policies on the database, and service role separation. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable precautions.

9. Children

Bligo is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If we learn that a user is under 18, we will delete their account.

10. International Users

Bligo is operated from the United States. If you access the platform from outside the US, your data may be transferred to and processed in the US. By using Bligo, you consent to this transfer.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll notify you through the platform or by email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
